Grandma Jan's twin brother Roger has a house in Michigan, and he invited us to spend a week with him in June. Can you see me in the cool screened-in porch?
Roger has a dog, Tucker, who is very loving. In fact, he is a certified therapy dog, and with Roger helps people who are struggling with all kinds of challenges.
This is the long stairway down from Roger's neighborhood to the beach, which we went up and down every day.
The water was a million times warmer than a week ago at Silver Beach. Wierd, huh. And it was so calm and shallow that we could go out really far. Roger has floaty toys that were a big hit, too.
I could really get around and feel confident in the water with this. Sometimes I would drift too far off, and Mom and Dad would call me back. One time I called back, "I'm coming back on my internet."
No evening is complete without piling up for some stories.
The weekend we were in Michigan happened to be Mommy and Grandma Jan and Roger's birthdays. So we celebrated those together.

In Saugatuck we took a chain-pulled ferry accross a little river.Partway through the week Daddy took Mommy back to Goshen to go to some church meetings, but we got to stay (and Daddy came back, too). It seems that much fun was had by all, even in Mommy's absence. One afternoon Grandma Jan and Roger disappeared for a few hours, and came back with some insect nets!
On Thursday evenings there are all sorts of street performers in Holland, MI, so we went up there to check it all out.
