Summer's End

Daddy helped me make this cool airplane from wood scraps.

Close up!

Leah came to visit and we got Ira smiling, which is not too hard these days.

They say Ira looks like Mitch, and I can see it here! A brow-furrowing moment on the way to First Fridays festivities.

Ira's gym has gotten so much (mis)use. But it is as sturdy as they come.

The big brothers entertaining their little brother in the DQ drive-through, after having found The Chief already sold out on its last day.

Where'd you get those lashes, baby?

The flying insects are loving our sedum...

and butterfly-mix flowers.

The big deal on Labor Day was being invited to a cook-out in the across-the-alley neighbors' yard! Hot dogs and s'mores!!! The boys love going over and playing in this yard (and the next-door neighbors', too), which is ok with them since their kids are too old for such things as the swing-set these days. Fun to have such great neighbors! We grown-ups ate our garden tomatoes and basil with nary a negative comment while the boys pigged out on their preferred fare. The backyard fire-pit is a tempting concept!
