July 9, 2011 photo shoot. Mitch was entertaining Ira with a balloon, and we got an emotional range from hahahahaha to I want it!
Curly curly boy. Will these curls grow again after your first haircut? This hot weather makes us lean toward getting your haircut sooner...poor sweaty guy.
Sara and Dave and the Goshen cousins came over for a party. The first present was some big Legos
on loan from Theo (since we have always had a no-Legos-for-Ira policy).

For the rest of us.
Careful explorations, not too much enthusiasm. If we had been eating the cake first, he may have been more excited to to dig into his. He watches what the rest of the family eats very closely these days.
All DONE with that cake! Of our three boys, Theo has been the one who got into his first birthday cake the most (despite a singed finger), and his is without a doubt the sweetest tooth among them (takes after his mother, I'm afraid).
And one last image to end on a sweet note. Ira's eyes have always made me think of blueberries. We love you, Ira Khalil!
