Summer Goings On

We have been home with Daddy a lot since school was over. That has been fun! Mommy is working at the library almost every day. One thing we did was prune our apple tree for the first time in four years. Dean came over to help, and even though it was too late in the season to do pruning, we hadn't gotten to it earlier, so we just did it. That is what a teacher's summer is for!

I (Theo) got to help even though it was my quiet time and Adam's naptime. Dean took a look and then helped us pick out what limbs to get rid of.

Daddy let me climb up the big ladder with him to the roof! That was sooooo cool!

The finished tree looks better to us, but it sure is still big. We hope it survives its wounds.

We have had a couple of playdates with the kids of other teachers at Daddy's school. This one was in our yard. Water play of all kinds has been the big fun activity, of course.

We had buckets and a sprinkler that someone brought, and the slip 'n' slide, and we drove the trikes around though all that!

This is a playdate with some of Mommy's seminary friends.

Silas, the littlest one, didn't get in the water, but Annika, who is almost one and is crawling everywhere, did! She didn't like it and her Mommy got her out right away.

We had lunch together as we usually do with this group, and it was fun to have Daddy there, too. You can see my mad-photo face again.

Once Mommy had an origami event at the library, and she asked her Japanese friends to help. So all their kids came and played with us...

...but we don't have pictures of that because Mommy had the camera at work. We've had a lot of fun so far this summer. We went to a new water park in Goshen (where I had an unfortunate faceplant into the "wooden tire mulch"), and Morgan, Adrienne, Maya and Zakai came over once, too. Mommy has been encouraging Daddy to take lots of pictures, but some images will just have to go uncaptured!

When there's nothing to do, there's always the porch swing.
