The Last Day of School

May 27 was the very last day of this school year. Theo's last day as a first grader and Adam's last day at Walnut Hill. In the fall (if you think that August 13 is the fall) Theo will be a second grader at Chandler, with the same wonderful teacher, and after Labor Day Adam will begin 8th Street Preschool, just like Theo did his last year before kindergarten. At least those are the current plans.

Theo made this sign at the last minute, and Adam wasn't too pleased that there was not enough time for him to have a sign, too. It says "Last day of school."

Being dropped off at the back entrance to the playground.

Arriving at WH with my faithful companion, Monkey.

Monkey rests in my cubby during the day, except during my naptime.

Skip ahead 6 hours, and here we are at the end of the last day, saying goodbye...and initiating a rash of hugs throughout the classroom.

There's Theo waiting for us in carline...for the last time ever? We think he will walk home next year.

Summer vacation means days at home with Daddy while Mommy gets stuff done at church. I finally got going on my bike. The good news is it's great fun, the bad news is that one training wheel broke after a minor fraternal collision, and the good news is that Theo's old training wheel is not installed in its place, for as long as I still need training wheels.

It's going to be a good summer!
