On August 11, our sister Willa Esperanza Siemens-Rhodes was born. She only lived for seven minutes.

When we got to be with with Willa later that morning, Theo said, "Now we're five in our family!" And Adam wanted to sing "Nuh nuh nuh, " (Brahms' Lullabye) and "Jesus loves me" to her. Morgan held her, too, and said, "She didn't have a chance. She can't wake up."

We gave her lots of kisses.

She looked just like any other baby, but she was too small to live on her own, and her heart didn't work well enough to keep her living.

Willa's kissable head with dark hair.

On Saturday night we had a service to remember and say goodbye to Willa. We got to light candles. When I sat down after lighting my candle, I said, "That candle means that Willa is living in heaven."

Our tiny little baby Willa. It is very sad to have a "not-live-long" sister. We miss her, but we know that she is happy in heaven with Grandpa Mark.
