A few weeks ago we set up a rock candy experiment. Last week we pulled the strings out and observed that there were crystals all along the inside of the glasses.
We chipped away at the "candy," and eventually dissolved it with warm water (a perfect solution!).
Round Two: There has already been more crystal growth since we took these pictures. One of these days we'll break out the "rock candy" and have the Mother of all Snacks.
