On our last day in Lancaster, Grandma took us to ride on a real steam engine. It was partly to celebrate my (Theo's) birthday, but we all loved every minute. As we were eating lunch at the station, the engine pulled up, and the sound was amazing! You could hear the choo-choo, and the bell dinging, and you could even see the fire through a little hole in the side of the engine.Just ignore all the other people who we don't know in this video. However, do note Adam's hand-in-mouth plan--he is getting his 2-year molars, and he chews on his hands a lot and is crankier than usual.
Front row seats!
Inside the car we watched the world go by, and some of us even even saw some animals--a rabbit, and two foxes! The banks that the train rolled past were full of big den entrances.
Heading back to the station, the engine was at the other end of the train. When we pulled into the station, some of that coal smoke got in our open windows--yuck!
