Washington D.C.

We went to Washington D.C. for the first weekend of Spring Break. We got there late Friday night. Then Saturday morning we walked to the Zoo and saw the hugest lobster in the world, and other animals. Mommy and Daddy got ready to go after our nap/quiet time, and then they left us with Hannah and Anthony! We had a great time, and didn't miss them much. Before we left the next morning, I tried on Hannah's awesome cowboy boots!

Adam wanted a turn, but he changed his mind when he saw that they would swallow up his little legs whole.

It was fun to look out of Hannah and Anthony's 4th story windows. We saw people and vehicles and dogs and birds and lots of other stuff.

This is a picture of the wedding Mommy and Daddy went to. Those four guys were best friends in high school, almost 20 years ago. Mommy and Daddy are old!

Amy and Dave have a new baby, the youngest person at the party by far (5 weeks old). His name is Oliver, just like our cousin! He did pretty well at the fancy party, getting bounced around a lot. Too bad we didn't get to meet him.

Thanks for putting up with us and feeding us so well, Hannah and Anthony! Anthony is an architect, and he helped me build a super garage for my Larrymobile!

This is the favor Mommy and Daddy got at the wedding--chocolate that looks like the Washington Monument. We parked right by the Monument, and I noticed that people were lining up to go in there, but we decided we didn't have the time to wait in that line today. We did end up waiting in lines to enter each museum, but they were short, and moved fast.

In the Air and Space Mueseum we saw some airplanes and bombs and rockets. I would have loved to stay there all day. But Adam and I both wondered how all those heavy planes and stuff were hanging from the ceiling!

We walked (and ran) a little way across the Mall to the next stop. This building behind us is the capitol building.

In the Museum of Natural History we saw all the big old dinosaur bones! Actually, they seemed a bit less huge than they are in my imagination, but still pretty cool.

The most fun we had downtown was running with Daddy...so maybe we'll wait a few years before we tackle any other major cities or sites. Still, with all the flowers blooming and new leaves on the trees, it was an excellent start to a week of Spring Break.
