On our second day in Portland, Brad took the day off and we all piled into the van and headed for some hiking. Ada and I had a good time in the back seat.
Uh-oh, Ada. Don't look--your paci is now history, I understand.
On the way to the hike we stopped off at a fishery.

This is Herman the Sturgeon, who is about 11 feet long, weighs about 500 pounds, and is in his 70s.
After bidding Herman farewell, we set out on the Eagle Creek trail to Punchbowl Falls. Again, hiking was a big hit, although some of us needed a bit of coaxing.
There were steel cables to hold onto for this portion of the hike.
Ollie's turn to cross a creek on a log bridge!
At our destination.

Leaving my walking stick behind. :(
No day in Portland is complete without visits to multiple waterplay areas! This one was downtown.
Who's tired out by a day of hiking and playing?
