The Friday that we were in the Pacific Northwest we drove 3 hours up to Seattle, where our college friend Mei lives. She took us out to a
dim sum restaurant, with big lions in front.

"Jumbo" Chinese food, with Mt. Rainier pictured there in the center.

We loved the fancy chandeliers, and all the seafood in various tanks.

Seattle has lots of great outdoor art.

Next stop, the Space Needle, which we have been fascinated with since we read a book about it a few months ago.

In the top left you can see a big duck, and people waiting to board amphibious buses for tours. That's where we headed next.

Our fearless driver, Capitain Hugo Wherigo (ha ha). When we were stuck in traffic for a LONG time, fed us bits of Seattle trivia, like it's the 3 worst city for traffic, after LA.
Now they tell us...

Driving out onto the water was fun!

I volunteered to come wear these silly glasses and get a piture with the Captain, but when I got up there I was shy and shrinking.

We headed back to Mei's apartment by water taxi just as the sun was setting.

Mt. Rainier and the HUGE shipping cranes.

Theo took this picture, and the next two.

Mei cooked up a gourmet feast, which we sat down to eat around 9, or later! Seattle traffic, and wanting to see lots of Seattle made for a very full day, and we wish we could have lingered and eaten more and talked longer.
